Reflections & Analysis introduction from curator Dana Abbas

The stories collected by Teatro di Nascosto have a particular purpose, they all tell one message and a very simple one, that “we are all human”.

Although this message seems very simple, we have the tendency to focus on the differences we have with others instead of seeing our importance in completing the jigsaw of humanity.

The real life stories that The Radio collects from conflict zones such as Iraq, Palestine, Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Iran…etc concentrate on what all humans have in common. We all have families, we all appreciate our parents or people who acted as guardians for us. We all eat, we all drink and we all sleep, all feel pain and avoid it if we can, we all seek happiness.

The theatre reportage remind us that we and the people who speak different languages, we and the people who believe in a different religion or not believing it, we and the people that have different skin colours, we and the people who wear clothing differently from us, we and the people who are not familiar with the our modern lifestyle: are all of the same ancestors and we are all human.
